i'm beat, beet red, ashamed of what i said
just watched lost in translation. i figured i'd check out some more focus movies since i've seen eternal sunshine twice and it's ridiculous how good it is. renee and i saw it on tuesday and it was even more intense the second time. yes, i cried during it. i'm turning into such a chick. i may be coming down with ductilitis, i'm not sure. :)
anyway lost in translation... i think it was good, i really couldn't tell, it's such an unconventional film, and you'd think i'd like that, since the only stuff that stirs me much anymore is the stuff that takes me by surprise, that shakes me up. it's weird, i think as most movies try to be a story or a whole novel, this movie tried to be a poem, very simple and expressive in a different way, not by the volume of the effects or the script, but more from imagery and context (i.e. the setting the people are in).
i need to watch adaptation again. i think i'd appreciate it a lot more now.
anyway, got poker night tonight, and i'm gonna play, i feel like it'll be more fun.
