ok my loan refund $$ needs to get here NOW. why, you ask?
well i'm gonna get a laptop with the first part of it. one, to do work when i'm in class next quarter, and two, i need one for club. oh yeah, three, work won't buy me one.
so i've been doing the proper research, pricing online, going to stores, and i have my minimum required specs (P4 or AthlonXP, 2.4Ghz, 512MB RAM, 40GB HD, firewire/USB2, some sort of video out, DVD/CDRW combo, 15" screen, 802.11g card, 3 year warranty) already set. specced a dell, an HP/compaq and a sony. the dell, $1430; the HP/compaq, $1499, and the sony, like $1850. figures. none with onboard firewire, or onboard wireless. but i'd settle for the HP (or God forbid the dell, whose laptops, in my experience, are the most unreliable pieces of junk, next to IBM, on the market). so it's settled, right?
then, go figure, i'd see THIS at - get this - BEST BUY of all places, people. P4 2.8Ghz, 512MB RAM, 60GB HD, DVD-RW burner, CDRW, 15" screen, 64MB Radeon video, onboard firewire and usb2... for $1500, GOO. but of course - only until Friday, and if i get my check by Friday i'd cry, but that just won't happen. ARGH. what a deal. it'd be perfect for me. plus it's a dang Vaio, they're AMAZING machines.
so... someone wanna float me some cash? :)
geez, know what i just noticed? no svideo or RCA out, VGA only. scrap that. grrrr. :(
