in the may-b rollin with my baby
so don miller was pretty great yesterday. he spoke a lot about some themes from sfgkw, i.e. seeing the gospel relationally vs. a set of ideas about God. he used a really interesting illustration of the gospel - romeo and juliet. he claimed that shakespeare was using the balcony scene as an allegorical description of starting a relationship with God, which i'm not sure i buy, but in any case it fit the whole story very well, and was a really cool way of looking at it. using one of the most famous scenes in human literature to describe the most important message in human history... fits pretty well...
hopefully northstar vineyard puts up an mp3 of his talk. i definitely wanna grab a copy.
saturday i stopped off at gamestop to sell some stuff back. i picked up jedi academy (the 3rd jedi knight / 4th dark forces game). it's essentially the same as the last one, jedi outcast, but that's a pretty excellent single player experience anyway. this one's just as good. i also grabbed midway's arcade classics 2. mainly cause it's got the arcade versions of mortal kombat 2 and 3, pit fighter, rampage, and the righteous wizards of wor, which was a favorite of mine on the c64.
