thanks CNN. crack journalism here. good to know we can count on 'the experts'.

question: if google released an OS... would you run it? it would involve more than 'here's an OS, have fun.' you'd need hardware support, available applications... i 'd feel a little better about dependability (google seems to internally test things far better than any other commercial OS developer).. if it was an entirely network-based OS, with every app as a service (word processors, messaging clients, media players, etc) instead of a local binary...

ehh, i don't know if they'd have the guts to try something like that. if it was based on an open-source/free software OS like linux or BSD, though, that'd be a different story... a google-branded linux distro... i'd run that. on its own, though, as an independent environment not based on any other platform, it'd have to just be for small devices and not for home PC users. go 'head put your back into it..
