dirty deeds... and the dunderchief

come along and tell your sister and your brother

yesterday was the company Reds game. it was nice to see the boys put forth some effort last night and pull out the win. tuesday when mom and i went, the lack of enthusiasm and drive by the entire team was just sad, with the sole exception being Larkin - who plays with all his heart all the time, the man who embodies Reds baseball IMHO. Griffey should have had a lawnchair out in center field, he just doesn't ever seem to like to bother to run after a fly ball heading in his direction. even A-deezy (Adam Dunn) seemed uninterested. so last night was a much more impressive showing, with some sweet plays by Casey and Larkin and some others. Renee and i went with Steve and Courtney and Artie and Lisa. it was a nice experience, although prying Renee and Courtney apart at the end was a little difficult and required some power tools.

Renee surprised me this morning with a card on my windshield that i found going out to go to work. she's pretty impressive. what was most impressive is not how sweet she is - but that she walked through my backyard into my garage to get there. my backyard is like the cicada's clifton headquarters right now. i opened the back door to leave for work and four of them dropped from the patio roof almost onto my head, like they were hanging out and thought it would be funny. so the fact that she walked through that battleground of insects is proof of her bravery.

anyway. got home after the game and found that B had bought wario ware for the cube. i've been talking about renting it for a while but i could never find it at a blockbuster... so B of course picked it up. i've heard from different gaming sites that it's a really insane multiplayer experience, and i must confirm that to be true. we got steve and artie to play and with four players it's absolutely ridiculous. it's basically a competition between all of the players to win a series of minigames that you have to learn how to play and then finish within the space of about five seconds. there are different variations on how you play them. one of the gametypes is 'frenzy' where each of the players - or all four at a time - get a minigame to play, and if you lose four of them you get eliminated. whoever's left at the end wins, and as you keep playing the games speed up ridiculously. balloon wars is a little cooler because each person takes turns playing a minigame, and while they're playing the others hit the A button on the controller to inflate a balloon that's onscreen. when you win a minigame, the next player takes your place and plays while you go to the end of the line and inflate the balloon. whoever is stuck playing the minigames when the balloon pops loses. the games are so random and weird that half the time you're laughing more at how strange they are than at the other players. anyway i can't wait to play it some more.

then we went to bed and noticed that B was gonna sleep with his dress pants on - he had an interview yesterday and never changed out of them. we were puzzled to say the least. so in true artie fashion, artie had steve hold B down while artie, ahem, remedied the situation. or started to, before B agreed to change, although he didn't see anything wrong with sleeping in your suit pants.

yeah.
