i spoke into his eyes
just finished wil wheaton's new book just a geek, it came yesterday from amazon, and i dug into it immediately. i think his openness about his feelings has been helpful in assuring me - someone who is probably too open and talkative about what normal people consider 'inner dialogue', who carelessly blabs about fears and shortcomings to total strangers. vulnerability is something... i don't know, i guess something like a magnet to me, because it feels pretty natural to me too. something that my close friends share.
anyway, the book is pretty much memoirs that chronicle his move from an acting career to writing, his laying to rest of Wesley Crusher (his character on Star Trek: TNG), and his turn from hating Trek to loving it and appreciating it. it's really funny and interesting. Wil's no Shakespeare (because clearly i am) but he's a really good writer and something about his expressiveness about his personal side - as he explains how he felt, his true motives, behind some of his more famous blog entires - really draws you in.
i've spent pretty much all of the last few days reading. feels a LOT more productive than watching TV all the time. wonder how long this'll last :)
