dirty deeds... and the dunderchief

i'm your eyes while you're away

so i did end up picking up ESPN MLB2K5. b and i played one quick game, cards vs. reds. i was representin' the stockings and he was tha lou. i really dig it from the one game we played. it took a minute to figure out fielding, running bases, stealing, pitching styles, etc... but a few innings in we had it down. a note if you're playing against b: watch for him to try to steal second and third pretty much every time he's at bat. i had to keep him in check quite a bit and he still had some bags on me.

it was a great game, though. i came back from a 10-4 slump in the fifth to win it 12-11, thanks to jiminez being 4-4 with 2 HR's. griffey even threw down on a home run late in the seventh. they put mad detail into the stadiums - the detail in great american was ridiculous. i'm sorry to say, though, that wily mo's player profile doesn't even include his picture. his player isn't that hot either. i stuck him in RF and he missed a couple of key fly balls, even going so far as to fall over on one of them. and hitting, he had one good single. bah.

one of the really great features is the xbox-specific ability to create your own soundtracks, by ripping cd's to the xbox hard disk, and then assigning songs to playlist. you can even set up tracks per player, so when they come up to bat... i can't wait to set that up. so i can play luda's you's a ho for jeter. and you know i've always wanted sean casey to come out to one more chance or heart of the city... get at me dawg or shorty wanna be a thug for griff..

also picked up street fighter: anniversary edition, which so far kinda sucks. it's only one version of the game - super SF2 turbo, or what the kids call SSF2T. not a very good version. but you can switch soundtracks back to the classic SF2 beats, play on Xbox Live against other people (which unfortunately no one was on at midnight on a saturday night, wonder why) and it even has the anime SF2 movie, plus some others you can unlock. but the configuration and controls are kinda weak. the xbox thumbsticks don't feel quite right for SF2 - the cube's feel much less flimsy when you're trying to fire off complicated moves.

or, it's just that i'm not as good at this game as i was ten years ago :)

got marriage counseling + team meeting + study tomorrow. enjoyed some tasty stuff at the work crew dinner tonight - got to cook up some stuff with meagan smith, colleen, debbiejones (yes it's one word), lindsay oliva, megan sammons, mike brown, dave nissan, and the work crew training kids.

oh, they're building another panera on winton, by cross-county. sweet, more free wifi. and their tuna sandwich on asiago cheese bread is awe-inspiring.
