 stranger than fiction

i figured i would enjoy this flick - the concept seemed clever, intriguing... it turned out to be probably my favorite movie of the year. i felt bad for the rest of the theater, actually, because i was laughing so loud the entire time. everything about it was great - the casting, the directing, storyline and concept, and the writing was as near flawless as i've seen in a long time.

i'm not sure my opinion would be shared by everyone, though. especially those who come in expecting will farrell to play the character he's been in nearly every film he's done lately, i.e. the old-school-ricky-bobby-ron-burgundy dude. he absolutely kills this role. and as a film with the distinct flavor of an indie movie, he dials down the silly comedy superstar to match the tone of the movie, and does so wonderfully.

man. i can't say enough good things about this film. surprisingly moving and totally hilarious.

I felt this same way about Kangaroo Jack.

I agree, my favorite movie I've seen in a really long time. I asked Lisa for that watch for Christmas.
