dirty deeds... and the dunderchief

from the fire we return

mmmm, delicious street fighter 4 footage. i am so ready for this game (and for the HD remix if they ever finish the stupid thing). although the character art is a little too cartoony, ryu looks like the judge from roger rabbit...

thought that I'd reply to this one since I have nothing else better to do...

That footage is sweet. It's definitely different, and while the effects on special moves certainly looks cool, I don't think that should sacrifice you actually seeing Ryu kick someone in the face. My vote is on the close power moves to downgrade the fire effects a little so they don't cloud everything on the screen.

Otherwise those fights we watch on youtube with the pro guys will be nothing but fading fire particles.

yeah i'm not quite sold on the zoom-in effects - and the closeups of the fighters before the match - makes the whole game feel less like street fighter and more like virtua fighter/doa/tekken. looks like you can skip past them, though.

i guess if the controls and gameplay feel like SF2, like they are aiming for, i think they'll succeed...

mmm, check this out - a hi-res video of ryu vs. ken, with a zoom-in shot of a finishing move that actually looks kinda cool. i don't know... maybe it'll grow on me.

Blogger MikeE Says:

They either made it harder to pull off the moves or those guys suck! Who can't make a fireball on an arcade version of the game? Geez.
