sparks fly and i find you in the glow

enchiladitos, they make you want to eat-o.

no club once again monday, unfortunately. we did end up going to larosas and ganking the huge circular table, there were like 17 of us. next week we're gonna do a grillout up at whitewater, woo.

i picked up the last samurai yesterday and started watching it. i forgot how haunting tom cruise was. i watched a handful of the extras and deleted scenes, they're ok. there's one cool deleted scene where algren (cruise) and katsumoto (ken watanabe) are talking about modern weaponry and how the soldiers with arms are just gonna own the samurai cuz they have howitzers and the samurai have bows and arrows. you can see how katsumoto knows it's true - but it doesn't even matter to him, he's just concerned about dying a good death. and later on when the battle takes place, you see the passion in the samurai. it's funny how new ways of thinking come in and almost abandon the people that are unwilling to leave their tradition and their way of doing things. because it's more than just a set of guidelines on how to live, it's a part of them. it's something i don't understand, because tradition has never held much weight with me, it seems like superstition or some other useless, meaningless feeling. but for some it's absolutely crucial, more important than life itself, deeply welded to who they are.

anyway. yeah. tony and i got lunch at tangeman, ate at the wannabe chipotle place, and they had some tasty frickin quesadillas. tony says the burritos weren't great tho. b and i chilled in the afternoon, and then i got home and got dinner w/renee, and then went out w/nick to watch duplex. which was OK but didn't live up to the hype. it had some funny stuff. long day tho. oh and had a database design exam that i'm not too sure about how i did on. i could have owned it, but i also feel like i could have totally bombed. those are the best.
