dirty deeds... and the dunderchief

the modern world rejects your hand

got awoken at 7:30 to fix a server. i think my job would be about 700% easier if we didn't run this useless CRM program called saleslogix that absolutely NEVER works right. i have more problems with their local/remote user database and contact management scheme.. i call them at least five, six times a month with problems. argh.

and i'm also angry that tampa bay won last night. calgary's been my team since i knew hockey existed... and i've never been an enormous fan, i'll watch it once and a while, it wasn't til i lived with tony and bragg that i watched it regularly... but calgary frickin deserved that win. this is why i shouldn't watch professional sports. every single team i've cared about in the last, oh, ten years, that has done reasonably well (and they've been few and far between) has disappointed me. i'm either an idiot and i just pick the wrong team every time, or i have the worst 'luck' in human history. i feel like someone that blew their whole life savings in vegas. like somehow the teams i like (and most of them are local, so that's even worse, like i don't have a choice) are a reflection on me.

anyway. i can see why people get emotional and intense about this stuff... i.e. the guys i know who do fantasy leagues and remember stats and player numbers like i remember TCP protocols and star trek episodes. but it'll never really be my bag, i don't think. it's just another element of this world that doesn't ultimately satisfy, that will always let you down in the end. unless you're biff from Back To The Future 2 and you have a sports almanac that always tells you the winner. then you're gravy.

anyway. new bad religion comes out today, totally jazzed about that. i'm in the 'get ready for camp' mode right now, we leave saturday night for saranac. eleven guys, ten girls signed up now. eighteen hour bus ride.. so we need some VHS movie action on the double. any suggestions? nothing over PG13 by rule.
