when the remy's in the system ain't no tellin
ahh routine. every monday i come in and write about what happened over the weekend, the fun stuff i did every day. i think 'can i change this up a bit? why do i do this anyway? it's not super interesting or anything..' never changes. so in different style, i'm calling this the weekend highlight reel:
seeing hitch on friday with renee: awesome, awesome flick. really funny, albeit a little cheesy at the end. it's interesting, the movie managed to deftly avoid cheese almost the whole time, like an agent dodging bullets, and then at the very end, trinity fires one straight into its head and it dies a horrible, cheesy death. but it's definitely worth seeing, though, despite the ending, i was laughing like crazy the whole time thanks to kevin james' brilliant depiction OF ME. ***** 5/5 stars.
laundry on saturday afternoon: stanard-issue 'laundry afternoon relaxation' was limited by (1) my parents' dvd player that won't play my Tivo-burned dvd's. blah. (2) not much good on TV. although renee came over for a bit and we watched behind the music: dr. dre. mmm. guess i coulda read (i just spelled that 'red' for a second, good job college boy) a book. oh well. if she'd been there for more than an hour and a half.. sigh, five more months. *** 3/5 stars
constantine / d&b saturday night: mikey and b and i and some navs people watched constantine in the useless showcase 'director's theater' where you pay $2.50 extra to sit in leather seats. that's it. the movie was excellent, very entertaining, great casting (wait, is that gavin rossdale of bush?), fantastic camera work and directing... creepy and really interesting and creative and yes, keanu plays keanu again. woot. then we hit d&b and played a little shuffleboard and ate some tasty bar burgers. ***** 5/5 stars
oh wait. is that.. five points? FEAR IT.
the cooking show / free vacation deal: the bridal show from last weekend actually did end up being cool cause we got selected for this 2-hour sales pitch where they try to sell us $7000 cookware that gives you back rubs and burps your baby. we passed - and got a 3-day/2-night all expenses vacation to one of a few resorts. mr. catch says we have to pay a 'reservation fee' and a 'service fee' but hopefully that won't be too much. and airfare. looks cool tho. we have 3 years to use it. it'll be a nice getaway for us. and the woman who was doing the presentation was clearly on speed and jim beam - absolute lunatic, but it was fun to watch. **** 4/5 stars
marriage counseling: we started up at lifespring's class with 5 or so other couples. the woman running the class, cheryl, is lspring's counseling director, and she's cool, i think i'll learn a lot from her. however, it was kind of a weird, awkward, disorganized thing, and then at the end we took a half-hour test, basically a marriage SAT, that tells us by looking at numbers and statistics how compatible we are. yeah. *** 3/5 stars
study: we're reading 1st and 2nd peter in the sunday nite study, it's been really good so far, although i feel like i usually sound pretty incoherent, but that's the self-doubt talking. we hit up applebees afterwards and pwned some wings. mmmm. ***** 5/5 stars.
work: crap, i'm here now, and i'm tired and had to dress nice again. * 1/5 stars
