well it's as good as everyone's saying... the cinematography and visual effects locked my brain up quite a few times, left me dumbfounded... the attention to detail was remarkable. like they created it so that every single still frame you could capture from the film would be a work of art.
the dialogue is where it almost comes undone - much of it is hard to swallow, bland and awkward, especially the ridiculous one-liners leonidas shouts out moments before each battle. but for all the eye-rolling you'll do listening to it, watching it will knock you on your back.
heh. awesome - one of the most stunning performances was xerxes, king of the persians, a towering creature with a commanding presence and a heavily modded voice... you wonder which pro-wrestler they got to play the role, and it turns out it's the annoying guy from lost that they just killed off last week.
the dialog was terrible and i thought the blood looked completely unrealistic.
and the sex scene was completely unnecessary.
is sex ever necessary???
if so, please tell this to my wife.
