the very clever 'masked marauder' sent over a link to a film being created by a friend-of-a-friend. the movie is a documentary about the rather shady goings-on - events that have some people yelling "cover-up!" - that took place in our great state during the 2004 presidential election. a trailer for the film - how ohio pulled it off - is available at their site.

the newsmedia has spoken extensively on the subject, and while i don't think there's quite enough evidence to declare a criminal conspiracy, you have to admit it's strange that so many people in this state had such problems getting in to vote. most likely we are talking about really bad planning on the part of the election committees and staff... however, the ensuing circumstances certainly could benefit some who were trying to push the election one way or the other.

maybe if this film has facts, instead of michael-moore-esque clever editing, i will learn something after watching it.

part of me wonders if we will ever have an orderly election ever again in this country, at least in the next 20 years. the polarized political climate that drives 24-hour-news-coverage and homebrew journalism - these factors don't set the stage for a candidate popular to more than 51% of the country.

*sigh* mister rogers, why'd you have to leave? you could have united us.
