the curse that flew right by you
i'm paying a little closer attention to the annual Apple Worldwide Developer's Conference, where they announce a bunch of their new products each year. mostly i'm watching just to see what they say about OSX 10.5
there's live coverage on the unofficial apple weblog and ars technica, where the new info is documented live as soon as it's announced on stage. i'd call anyone who sits and refreshes a page like this for an hour a little obsessive, but i'll admit i did it for nintendo's E3 keynote.
anyway, i just thought it was funny that during the presentation they said they were working on OSX 10.5, codenamed Leopard, but that they couldn't show all the new features because they didn't want Microsoft to copy it. so what's the first new feature they showed off? Time Machine, an automatic system configuration backup application.
huh, neat idea. i liked it in 2001 when Microsoft stuck it in XP and called it System Restore. see, when Microsoft steals ideas (which they obviously do), they're thieves, but when Apple does it, they're innovative, right?
i don't think i'm gonna go for Leopard, honestly, a couple of small improvements and new features isn't worth $130 or whatever Apple charges for their minor releases. cut that price in half and i might consider it.
They need to have the one armed drummer from Def Leopard to do the commercials for it. He can beat the PC guy in the other commercials with his stump.
i saw the def leopard one armed drummer in concert two weeks ago. he's amazing. oh, and def leopard puts on a pretty good show.
i can't believe i just said that.
Loverboy is playing at the Western Idaho Fair in two weeks.
dude, if there's a demolition derby, then you need to be there. you don't know what you're missing.
