dirty deeds... and the dunderchief

if you swear to listen

i've noticed a couple of things lately.

  • people defend their cell phone providers to the death. you bring up your cell company in a conversation ("my wife used to use verizon...") and all of a sudden everyone in the room is talking about why their provider is better - even if it sucks. rarely does anyone admit to having lousy cell service. i had sprint from 1998 to 2003 and for nearly that entire time i hyped their service to everyone that had ears - even though they sucked and i hated them. b has been one person who has never seemed to be vulnerable to this. even though he was the one who got me to switch to CBW. :)

  • poker players that lose are bitter about 99% of the time - no matter if their personality dictates that under normal circumstances, they're a bitter loser. i occasionally read poker blogs and hear stories of great losses and there's always the underhanded comment about "well if cardy mccard over there didn't have such a huge stack" or "if people at this table would bet once in a while"... back when i got lambasted last year by renee and her dad, i did the same thing. it was never about me being a bad poker player, which i am. it was all their fault.

action packed weekend. renee and i are going to the art museum to see an exhibit on photographs as album covers. looks interesting, and i haven't been to a museum since i took that art criticism class and maybe i can flex the skills. and kolia & liz lutow are moving that day too so i'm going to lift some small boxes and act like i'm helping.

no NLT or playing at taylor this week.. no vandelay.. ok i guess it's not as action packed as i thought.

...

i heard this today on the writer's almanac and i dug it. so i will finish with it.
No rest
without love,
no sleep
without dreams
of love--
be mad or chill
obsessed with angels
or machines,
the final wish
is love

I so much desire to be a loyal person that I feel guilty admitting that I'm so incredibly frustrated with Verizon... the fact that I'm thinking about CBW makes me feel like I'm cheating on my wife...

two things,
you know i hate my Nextel/Sprint account. But its FREE, so whatever.
also, its ALWAYS someone else's fault. ALWAYS.

I've found with Verizon you have to have the right phone ... sometimes thats all it is. I love my Verizon ... I even moved Dara onto it (she used to have Sprint).
