did i cross a line?

i LOVE the new digital music era. LOVE IT.

trent just posted a new nine inch nails single, discipline, for free download here. comments in the ID3 tags say to visit www.nin.com on may 5.

the track itself is alright - not incredible, but very good. very, very good for the price.

Yep, Trent is the man. Not only did Trent just release this single for free, online, without warning, but allegedly only 24 hours after it was mastered in the studio.

I agree, the track isn't my favorite. It has a With Teeth feel to it, probably because it feels like a poppy, radio-friendly song. Still, the whole idea is exciting. The last time Trent gave us cryptic messages like this for a future announcement, he delivered Ghosts, so I cannot wait until May 5.
