a fire in the attic

the last piece of the windows-on-the-macbook puzzle has been laid down. bootcamp 1.1.2 dropped today, with full support for the Apple USB modem and full trackpad support - the excellent one-handed move + scroll + rightclick that, until today, had to be pulled off with third-party hacks.

it works pretty well - not perfect - but it makes working in windows a thousand times better.

i plan on trying the legendary applecare service this weekend - taking the system in to get the discoloration fixed. i'm hoping to jackpot on a two-day turnaround, but i'll probably get 7-10 days. argh.
