give me a shot to remember
wowzers... this summer has a great lineup of wednesday shows, i wouldn't mind hitting a few of these up:
- july 11 - rise against at bogart's
- july 18 - social distortion at bogart's
- august 1 - warped at riverbend, which i'm definitely going to, this year is sick... bad religion, coheed + cambria, bayside, straylight run, the toasters, alkaline trio...
- august 8 - 311 and matisyahu at riverbend
- august 22 - dave matthews and pete yorn at riverbend
and don't forget rush at riverbend on september 1 which my mom and brother are hitting up. that just makes me chuckle, i don't know, picturing adrian rocking out to rush...
Wow, I just realized how out of the punk scene I am. I looked at the list of bands on The Warped Tour, and I recognized like 5 names! I'm old...
thats okay man - they all suck, you're not missing anything
dave matthews sucks too....why mention him?
well i'd love to see pete yorn. and renee's a DMB fan, she might enjoy that show too.
yeah i got burnt on DMB back in freshman year of college, artie was quite a fan and listened to them a lot. God bless him, he doesn't have the silly short attention span i have for CD's.
oh, and i got dumped at a DMB concert when i was 17. so there's that too.
rush blows... hard.
I think my DMB disdain stems from the media hype surrounding them and trying to say they were going to replace Phish as the premier live jam band. While DMB songs are obnoxious, I'll admit they do have some talent....but still don't hold a candle to other jam bands like Phish, Widespread Panic, Bela Fleck, Moe, etc.... I think the main reason my love affair with DMB subsided is due to discovering so many new bands that were tons better.
Also...I do kind of dig Pete Yorn's first album.
